As Product Director and Actuary, you'll drive strategic product initiatives across all divisions, collaborating closely with our sales distribution channels to innovate customer-centric solutions. 

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Base Salary: $158,000 - $208,000 plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

What You’ll Do:

  • Plans, staffs, and directs department activities including budgeting and controlling expenses, planning, interviewing and selection of team members, training and development, appraising performance, administration, and ensuring compliance.
  • Identifies and investigates profit and financial opportunities related to assigned product lines.
  • Develops actuarial assumptions while valuing or projecting various product lines. May have an opportunity to assist in designing and developing new products that satisfy marketing objectives and are actuarially sound to support Company objectives.
  • Partners with multiple sales distribution channels to build and grow new and existing customer solutions.
  • Monitors, facilitates and controls corrective actions regarding experience loss ratios for product lines to contribute to achievement of revenue and product line profitability goals. Directs monitoring and financial analysis of product line profitability following the implementation of product pricing strategies for assigned product lines.
  • Provides actuarial support to the product lines and continually assesses as they respond to new challenges brought about by the regulatory environment, including state and federal reform.
  • Identifies and assesses risk in actuarial responsibilities. Complies with actuarial standards of practice, precepts and enterprise risk management responsibilities. Supports enterprise-wide risk management initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA), plus a thorough actuarial background.
  • Experience incorporating actuarial expertise with the creativity necessary to effectively design and critique new products.
  • Team leadership experience with a keen ability to communicate effectively and engage with sales teams and distribution channels to drive business growth.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, pricing and marketing philosophies and objectives, risk management, and a broad background in the operations of insurance companies.
  • Awareness of emerging environmental and industry trends, and strong problem-solving abilities using business-oriented solutions.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Health and pricing background.
  • Long Term Care insurance experience.
  • Familiarity with actuarial modeling software (AXIS, ALFA, Prophet)
