Provides legal support to Law Operation attorneys to contribute to the effective legal services for the Company.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage assigned legal matters. Draft and examine a variety of legal documents. Organize documents for regulatory exams. Assist attorneys in preparing regulatory filings and responses to regulator requests.
Perform legal research and due diligence to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies. Summarize research results for attorney. Knowledgeable using on-line legal research databases. Assist attorney in legal and compliance training sessions.
Serve as project contact with in-house counsel, outside counsel and internal clients. Manage project timelines. Participate in project meetings.
Work with attorneys on project improvement and customer focused initiatives. Attend meetings to identify process efficiency opportunities.
Possess effective human relations and communication skills. Demonstrate solid time management planning and organization skills.
Stay current on relevant changes in federal and state statutory, regulatory and procedural laws affecting assigned areas of the law. Work with attorneys to assess appropriate process changes.
- Excellent legal research skills
- Thorough knowledge of the American legal system, including federal and state court systems and substantive, procedural, public, private and civil law
- Initiative to work independently
- Solid decision-making skills and uncompromising commitment to confidentiality
- Effective communication skills and strong time management and organizational skills
- Proficient technology skills using computerized legal research systems and legal software applications.
