Manages, assists in the development and maintains the Enterprise Vendor Management Program for the company. Consults, educates and provides guidance and support to the business areas on the vendor management policies, standards, requirements, and activities related to the program and vendor management policies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages the Vendor Manager Program by providing guidance, consultation and support to the Company's business areas as necessary to manage vendors and the associated risk. Such activities and accountabilities include, but are not limited to, vendor management life-cycle processes, vendor monitoring oversight, escalation process for noncompliance or risk issues, vendor management program documentation, internal and external audit support, and vendor management guidance for Company initiatives.
  • Oversees the administration and activities of the vendor management program for the Company. Identifies inconsistencies, develops resolutions, and ensures timely implementation of processes, procedures and systems.
  • Act as company liaison to strengthen and manage relationships. Communicates with areas of Company and externally with outside parties, regulatory officials, etc. Provides recommendations to business areas on vendor management matters to ensure regulatory requirements are implemented into Company policies, procedures and processes. Collaborated with all levels within the organization to help navigate the life-cycle of vendor relationships. Partners with Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity, Information Security and other groups to manage vendor risk for the Company.
  • Develops and administers Company-wide vendor management training to ensure proper resources are allocated and required regulatory requirements are achieved and align with the program. Coordinates ongoing evaluation and update of standards based on federal/state requirements, regulatory environment, professional standards and business changes and adapts the program accordingly.
  • Remains abreast of general legislative and regulatory trends and federal/state legislation affecting insurance, securities and banking compliance as it related to vendor management. 
  • Serves on various committees, task forces, focus groups and project board.
  • Develops and maintains a fair and equitable working environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of vendor risk management and the overall company's business practices. 
  • Strong knowledge of an experience in the vendor risk management life cycle practices and methodologies.
  • Good knowledge of and experience in interpreting federal, state and industry laws, regulations, legal opinion/writings, and guidance related to insurance with the ability to identify, interpret and apply in regulatory related issue and activities.
  • Strong ability to motivate and influence constituents at all levels across the organization to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to inquiries from internal and external business partners and regulators.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills; ability to analyze, interpret and utilize significant amounts of data to make sound business decisions, ability to evaluate current compliance situation, monitor controls, identify a path to solutions, and execute a plan to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrated strong customer focus with success in meeting customer requirements in a fast paced, multi-faceted, highly regulated and diverse environment.
  • Personal computer skills to include various software packages, including word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail and presentation systems.
  • Ability to work independently with strong, strategic planning and organization skills; self-motivated and directed, adaptable, team focused and detail-oriented. 
  • Ability to work independently, balancing competing project request while meeting deadlines.
  • Proven creativity, initiative, tact and sound business judgement ability.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Ability to teach and foster development in others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Finance or related discipline. 
  • 5+ years of financial service industry experience in Regulatory Compliance, Audit, Risk Management or Assurance role.
  • Experience in vendor risk management.
  • Experience in understanding new laws and regulatory requirements and how they related to risk, security, and compliance, and experience writing reports and producing analysis of metrics to present the overall risk to enterprise.
  • Experience communicating with regulators and senior management.
  • Experience leading and managing a team.
